About Will

People engage me to resolve complex employment law issues and disputes because I do the difficult, very well.

My Approach

UK employment laws are vast and complex and when clients engage me for the first time it is often in connection with a serious business or professional crisis of a kind they have never experienced before.

My value in those cases is that I reduce my client’s stress through expert, measured and delivery-focused legal advice and representation.   This provides the space for my clients and I to concentrate on securing the outcomes that are the most important.

Paying clients rightly expect accessible, prompt, reasonably priced and hassle-free service.  If you or your business instructs me to help you with your employment law issues, that is you will get – a high quality, commercially-minded and straightforward legal service that you will want to use again and would be very happy to recommend to others.

My Clients

I am instructed by employers and by senior executives.

Employers (large and small) tend to retain me to resolve significant / high value disputes (especially those involving senior managers and directors), to represent them in employment tribunal or other legal proceedings, to advise on workforce changes (TUPE, redundancy or restructuring programmes), to advise on or conduct internal investigations, or to simply ensure that their employment and other relevant contracts, policies and procedures remain legally compliant and up to date.

I am also frequently engaged by senior employees and directors when they experience challenges at work, or when they need help understanding or negotiating the terms of their contracts of employment, restrictive covenants, exit packages and settlement agreements.

My Experience

I began my legal career by qualifying as a barrister in 1995.  I quickly developed a specialism in employment and labour law and, 25 years or so later, I am amongst the most experienced lawyers in my field.

I bring to cases a broader range of commercial experiences than other employment lawyers you might come across.

I have acted in countless employment tribunal claims involving unfair dismissal, constructive unfair dismissal, whistle blowing, disputes involving worker status and rights, employment rights on the transfer of undertakings (TUPE), disability discrimination, race discrimination, religious discrimination, age discrimination, sex discrimination and other claims under the Equality Act 2010,

However, my employment litigation practice extends beyond the employment tribunals and includes High Court claims for wrongful dismissal, shareholder and partnership disputes and injunctions involving the protection of trade connections, confidential information and the enforcement of post-termination restrictive covenants.
